During good times sales are easy. Everyone is buying, everyone is selling, and every person who works within that market seem to have incredible success in the business.
But then the inevitable happens and the market shifts. Buying slows, selling takes longer to achieve, and as for the people who work in that industry the market begins to notice the cream rising to the top. The people who simply benefited from the market suddenly find themselves vulnerable while the players who were disciplined and applied strategy acquire more market share.
Sales are easy to come by when the market is up but the true test for the business professional is when the market contracts.
