...which is the reason why they're so memorable. We rarely forget where a scar came from, how we got it, and the lesson we learned from it. And so when we're faced with a similar circumstance we usually choose more wisely, because it hurt to get the scar the last time around.
But the interesting point to make about scars is that they don't kill you. They may hurt a little (maybe even a lot), they may leave a mark, but scars don't kill us--they just leave a permanent mark.
