'Tis the season for listings going on the market during the holidays! Here are a few tips you may want to consider as you prepare your home for the market.
- Use holiday decorations to your benefit, but don't over do it! Put out the pumpkins, place a wreath on the front door, and make sure your interior decor speaks to the season we're in without making it too personal to your own taste.
- For showings, have Christmas carols playing in the background. Get people in the cheerful mood and make them feel like it's their home.
- Consider having holiday cookies, egg nog, and hot chocolate out for anyone to have and enjoy as they tour the home. Remember, you want them to stay as long as possible. The longer they stay the more likely they want to purchase.
- Remove your personal portraits and replace them with ornaments or works of art that speak to the season.
Home buying is more emotion than math, buyers usually purchase homes that speak to their gut, rather than the one that makes more sense to their budget.
'Tis the season to be joyful and sell!
